Business Profile:
Started in 1981 in Atlanta, Georgia, LongHorn Steakhouse was originally named LongHorn Steaks. Always a steakhouse, LongHorn became popular during a “SnowJam”, described as a freak snow storm, in 1982 by offering great food and even better deals on beer. By the 90’s, LongHorn Steaks has expanded to the East, Midwest and Southwest of the United States and in 1996 decided to rebrand as LongHorn Steakhouse.
Purchased by Darden Restaurants, Inc. in 2007, LongHorn Steakhouse has since grown to over 480 restaurant locations nationwide. Additionally, LongHorn participates in many of Darden’s community based programs, such as feeding the hungry by packaging and donating unused food to various food banks, pantries, shelters and charitable organizations. Since it’s purchase in 2007, LongHorn has donated over 12.5 million pounds of food.
LongHorn Steakhouse offers a variety of menu options that include steaks, their signature Flo’s Filet and Outlaw Ribeye, grilled fish, chicken, ribs, soups and salads, hearth-baked bread and desserts. Each restaurant offers a classically warm steakhouse ambiance, described on their website as “reminiscent of [a] rancher’s home” accompanied by a fully stocked liquor and beer program, as well as their carefully sourced Californian wines.
LongHorn Steakhouse is open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner, and franchising opportunities are available. LongHorn also has an eClub which offers coupons and special deals.
