Opening 30 years ago in 1988, Pet Supplies Plus’ first location found its home in Redford, MI.  Since then, the brand has grown to over 400 locations throughout 30 states, and plans to open 50 more, allowing them to bring all the pet supplies one could need to the masses.  Pet Supplies Plus is currently headquartered in Livonia, MI., and carries food, toys, supplies and services for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and other small pets, like rabbits.

In additional to supplying their communities with the a wide selection of natural foods, goods and services, Pet Supplies Plus works towards assisting surrounding neighborhoods through partnerships and support for “local animal shelters, non-profits and rescue organizations by hosting year-round adoption events, food and product donations and fundraisers” (Pet Supplies Plus).  Pet Supplies Plus’ website also has various support and resource pages featuring information for teachers who’d like pets in their classroom, breed guides, training information and more as well as specialty information on our “favorite friends”.

In October 2014, Christopher Rowland took over Pet Supplies Plus as CEO of the company, and has since boasted record growth for the company.  Rowland’s strategy for the company is to “deliver a dazzling experience, outstanding value and incredible convenience to every neighbor who walks into our stores,” (Pet Supplies Plus).  Most recently, Pet Supplies Plus was ranked 32nd on Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 ® list for 2018 (Pet Supplies Plus).
