About Gordon’s Jewelers

Gordon’s Jewelers is an established American jewelry retailer with a history that stretches back to 1905, when Meyer M. Gordon opened the first store in Houston, Texas. Over the decades, the company built a reputation for quality and service, growing from a single storefront into a well-known regional chain, particularly throughout Texas and the southern United States. By the 1970s, Gordon’s Jewelers had become a prominent name in mall-based jewelry retail, recognized for its broad assortment of engagement rings, wedding bands, and fashion jewelry.

A significant turning point came in 1994, when Gordon’s Jewelers was acquired by Zale Corporation. This move brought the brand into a larger family of jewelry retailers and provided access to greater resources and operational scale. In 2014, Signet Jewelers Limited acquired Zale Corporation, and Gordon’s Jewelers has operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Signet ever since. As of November 2025, Gordon’s Jewelers maintains a footprint of approximately 80 corporately operated stores across the United States, with a concentration in regional malls and shopping centers, especially in Texas, the Southeast, and the Southwest.

In recent years, the company has focused on refining its store portfolio and strengthening its omnichannel presence, serving customers both in physical locations and online. Rather than pursuing aggressive new store growth, Gordon’s Jewelers has concentrated on optimizing performance within established markets and enhancing the customer experience across all channels. The company’s real estate and operational decisions are closely coordinated with its parent, Signet Jewelers, which also owns Kay Jewelers and Zales. This shared infrastructure supports consistency and credibility in store operations and leasing relationships.

Gordon’s Jewelers continues to be a familiar and stable presence in many shopping centers, valued for its long-standing brand, steady traffic generation, and commitment to established retail environments. All locations are corporately operated, and the company does not franchise. Real estate matters are generally managed at the parent company level, reflecting Gordon’s integration within Signet’s broader portfolio.
