AUSTIN, Texas – Whole Foods Market in its recent second-quarter earnings results announced that it has signed nine leases for new store locations in Fayetteville, AR; Chappaqua, NY; Honolulu, HI; Indianapolis, IN; Fort Worth, TX; Cherry Hill, NJ; Buffalo, NY; North Wales, PA; and Richmond, VA. These new leases –key milestones in the company’s development strategy include one relocation and three new markets, raising its total development projects to a record 114 stores.
The Footage for each store is expected to be approximately 40,000 sq. ft. in line with the Whole Foods Market revised store development plans focusing on stores of 35,000 to 45,000 sq. ft. The retailer has in past few years only targeted sites of 30,000 to 35,000 sq. ft. In addition, the new stores are likely to be located in convinient points with easy access, ample parking space and clear visibility to allow the stores to effectively serve both locals and visitors.
