Heritage Home Group

Heritage Home Group was established in 2013, following the acquisition of Furniture Brands International out of bankruptcy. The company brought together a collection of well-known furniture brands, including Broyhill, Thomasville, Lane, Drexel Heritage, and Henredon, and operated from its headquarters in High Point, North Carolina. Heritage Home Group managed both manufacturing and showroom facilities across the United States, serving a wide range of customers through independent retailers, company-owned stores, and major department stores.

As of July 2018, Heritage Home Group maintained a significant presence in the U.S. furniture market, overseeing a diverse portfolio that spanned from mass-market to luxury segments. The company’s approach involved repositioning its brands to keep pace with changing consumer preferences and focusing on operational efficiency. Over its five-year run, Heritage Home Group played a visible role in key furniture markets, particularly through its manufacturing and showroom footprint in areas like High Point.

In July 2018, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after facing persistent financial pressures, including increased competition from imports and shifts in how consumers shop for furniture. By late 2018, Heritage Home Group had ceased operations. Its brands were sold to various buyers: Broyhill became part of Authentic Brands Group and is now sold through Big Lots, Lane was acquired by United Furniture Industries, and other brands found new ownership as well. Each of these brands now operates independently, with new owners pursuing their own real estate and distribution strategies.

Heritage Home Group’s dissolution marked a notable shift in the competitive landscape for furniture retail and manufacturing. The company’s former brands continue to influence showroom and retail space decisions in the U.S., but Heritage Home Group itself no longer operates, and there are no current contacts or corporate infrastructure remaining from the original entity.
