Bagger Dave’s Burger Tavern is a fast casual dining concept that has become a staple in Michigan, known for its customizable burgers, hand-cut fries, and shakes. Founded in 2008, the restaurant quickly gained popularity for its approachable menu and relaxed tavern atmosphere. Initially, Bagger Dave’s expanded rapidly across Michigan and into Indiana, reaching a peak of over 25 locations by 2015. This growth was bolstered by its public listing under Diversified Restaurant Holdings, Inc. in 2012, which increased the brand's visibility and helped fuel its expansion.

However, in the years that followed, Bagger Dave’s encountered significant challenges. Competitive pressures and changing consumer preferences prompted a strategic downsizing. By late 2020, most of its locations had closed, and the company transitioned to private ownership after being divested by Diversified Restaurant Holdings. As of November 2025, Bagger Dave’s operates just two locations in Berkley and Plymouth, Michigan.

While the company is not currently pursuing expansion, it remains committed to maintaining its Michigan roots and focus on quality. The brand's history of operating in high-traffic retail areas and its adaptable tavern format continue to make it a noteworthy presence in the local fast casual dining scene. Despite its reduced footprint, Bagger Dave’s is valued for its regional recognition and dedication to providing a consistent dining experience.
