About Bobby’s Burger Palace

Bobby's Burger Palace, founded in 2008 by renowned chef Bobby Flay, made its debut at Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, New York. The restaurant quickly gained attention as a premium fast-casual burger destination, known for its commitment to high-quality ingredients and chef-inspired recipes. The brand's modern dining atmosphere and signature offerings, like the 'Crunchburger' and regionally themed burgers, showcased Flay's unique culinary style, which combined classic American flavors with creative flair.

During its peak, Bobby's Burger Palace expanded to over 19 locations across the United States, establishing a presence in key metropolitan areas such as New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. The brand was celebrated for its upscale approach to fast-casual dining, appealing to both food enthusiasts and commercial landlords looking for dynamic, high-traffic tenants.

However, the landscape changed dramatically after 2020. Faced with the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and evolving market conditions, Bobby's Burger Palace began closing its doors, including its flagship location at Smith Haven Mall. By late 2023, nearly all of its restaurants had ceased operations, and the brand's online presence dwindled. As of November 2025, only one location remains, with no plans for future expansion or new site acquisitions.

Throughout its operational history, Bobby's Burger Palace maintained corporate ownership, opting not to franchise. Its store designs featured vibrant interiors and open kitchens, fitting well within malls, urban storefronts, and lifestyle centers. Despite its eventual decline, the brand left a mark as a prominent chef-led fast-casual concept of the 2010s, offering valuable insights into the lifecycle of such ventures and the importance of adaptability in a changing market.
