Champps Americana is a well-established casual dining and sports bar chain that first opened its doors in 1984 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Originally named Concourse 7, the restaurant quickly transformed into Champps, adopting a sports bar theme characterized by large television screens and a menu featuring American favorites like burgers and sandwiches. Over the years, Champps expanded its presence across the Eastern, Southwestern, and Midwestern United States, becoming a popular choice for sports enthusiasts and families alike.

In 2007, Champps reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by Fox & Hound Restaurant Group, integrating it into a broader portfolio of casual dining brands. Despite its initial success, the chain encountered financial difficulties, leading to bankruptcy filings in 2013 and 2016. These challenges resulted in a significant reduction in the number of locations, with Champps now operating just five restaurants as of August 2025. These locations are spread across Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, New York, and Mississippi.

Today, Champps is focused on maintaining its existing operations rather than pursuing expansion. The brand continues to offer a unique blend of dining and sports entertainment, maintaining its appeal to a dedicated customer base.
