About Daddy Dough Donuts
Daddy Dough Donuts, founded in 2006, was a specialty donut retailer and franchisor based in Bangkok, Thailand. The brand quickly gained recognition in the Thai quick-service bakery market with its innovative concept of fresh, made-to-order donuts. Customers could personalize their donuts with a variety of toppings and fillings, which set Daddy Dough apart from traditional bakeries. By 2012, the company had expanded to over 30 locations across Thailand, focusing on high-traffic shopping malls and transit hubs to cater to convenience-driven consumers.
As of March 2019, Daddy Dough operated 28 stores, primarily situated in Bangkok and other major cities like Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Pattaya. The brand was exploring international franchise opportunities in Southeast Asia, reflecting its ambition to extend its reach beyond Thailand. Daddy Dough's approach to expansion was marked by careful selection of prime retail sites and collaboration with established mall operators, making it an attractive tenant for commercial real estate professionals. The stores varied in format, from kiosks to full inline units, offering flexibility for different retail environments.
In late 2019, after a strategic review by its parent company, S&P Syndicate Public Company Limited, Daddy Dough ceased its operations. This decision was influenced by increased competition and changing consumer preferences in the Thai bakery market. The closure was completed in December 2019, with S&P Syndicate integrating select assets and staff into its broader portfolio of bakery and café offerings. Despite the closure, Daddy Dough's legacy as a pioneer in customizable donut experiences remains noteworthy in the history of Thai retail.
