About Fatburger
Fatburger is a well-established restaurant chain known for its cooked-to-order hamburgers and classic American menu. The company was founded in 1947 by Lovie Yancey in Los Angeles, starting as a modest stand called "Mr. Fatburger." After taking full ownership, Yancey dropped the "Mr." from the name in 1952, and the brand gradually built a strong following in California, especially for its fresh beef patties and customizable options.
Over the decades, Fatburger expanded beyond its West Coast roots. A pivotal moment came in 2003 with a significant investment that accelerated its growth, followed by international expansion beginning in 2008 with its first Middle East location in Dubai. The brand has continued to open restaurants in new markets, including a flagship in Lahore, Pakistan, in 2013.
As of November 2025, Fatburger operates more than 200 restaurants across over 20 countries, with a presence in the United States, Canada, the Middle East, and Asia. Recent years have seen the company open new locations in Florida, Canada, and the Middle East, reflecting a focus on high-traffic urban centers, airports, stadiums, and co-branded sites. Fatburger is a subsidiary of FAT Brands Inc., which owns several restaurant concepts and supports Fatburger’s expansion through its multi-brand platform.
The brand’s ability to adapt its store formats for a range of retail environments, combined with its ongoing growth in both domestic and international markets, positions Fatburger as a recognizable and reliable tenant for a variety of commercial settings. Its sustained relevance and operational consistency have helped the company maintain momentum in competitive markets for nearly eight decades.
