About iMobile
iMobile began in 2006 as a wireless retailer focused on mobile devices and service plans, operating primarily as an authorized dealer for Sprint. Over the next decade, the company established a national footprint, reaching 48 stores as of June 2019. Its locations were typically found in busy retail corridors and strip centers, offering customers hands-on access to the latest devices and personalized service for Sprint activations. By 2018, iMobile had become a recognized multi-unit operator in the wireless retail sector, maintaining a consistent presence in both suburban and urban markets.
A significant change came in late 2020 when Sprint merged with T-Mobile US, Inc. Following this merger, iMobile’s stores were gradually rebranded or closed as part of a broader consolidation of Sprint’s dealer network. The company ended independent operations in early 2021, with most locations either absorbed into the T-Mobile system or shuttered. As of 2025, iMobile’s brand and online presence are inactive, and there are no plans for new store openings.
During its operational years, iMobile contributed to the diversity and stability of retail centers, offering a proven format that attracted consistent foot traffic and provided reliable tenancy. Its experience as a national operator and its ability to adapt to changing market dynamics made it a credible partner for landlords and developers seeking established retail tenants.
