NYPD Pizza is an independent New York-style pizzeria that began in 1996, when founder Paul Russo moved from New York to Orlando with the goal of introducing authentic New York pizza to Central Florida. The brand quickly gained a following for its hand-tossed, thin-crust pizzas and classic recipes, earning a reputation as a local favorite. Over the years, NYPD Pizza expanded across the Orlando area and into other markets through franchising, at one point operating a larger network of stores.

As of October 2025, NYPD Pizza operates three locations, primarily serving Central Florida. The company recently closed its flagship Metrowest Orlando store after 25 years, marking a significant milestone and reflecting a deliberate shift in strategy. Rather than pursuing rapid expansion, NYPD Pizza has chosen to focus on maintaining quality and operational efficiency at its remaining stores. The franchise program remains listed as active, but new market entries and store openings are currently on hold.
