About Pro Cuts

Pro Cuts is a hair salon brand that began in 1982, originally offering affordable, walk-in haircuts for men, women, and children. The company grew quickly in its early years, expanding across the United States and becoming a familiar name in suburban and small-town shopping centers. By the early 2000s, Pro Cuts operated several hundred locations, mainly throughout the Midwest and Southern states. Its straightforward, sports-themed concept and accessible pricing helped attract steady foot traffic and made it a dependable tenant in neighborhood retail centers.

A significant milestone came in 2005 when Pro Cuts was acquired by Regis Corporation, a major player in the haircare industry and owner of other well-known salon brands. Under Regis, Pro Cuts continued to serve its core markets for several years. However, beginning in 2018, Regis Corporation started to phase out the Pro Cuts brand as part of a broader consolidation strategy. Many Pro Cuts salons were either closed or converted to other Regis banners.

As of December 2020, only five Pro Cuts locations remained open, primarily in Texas and Oklahoma. These stores are independently owned, and there are no active efforts to franchise or expand the brand. The official website and social media channels are inactive, and Regis Corporation no longer lists Pro Cuts among its operating brands.

Over the past five years, Pro Cuts has shifted from a national chain to a legacy brand with a limited footprint. Its transition reflects larger trends in the haircare sector, where major franchisors have streamlined their portfolios and focused on concepts with stronger growth potential. For landlords, brokers, and developers, Pro Cuts was once a reliable choice for retail spaces seeking consistent customer traffic and a service-oriented tenant. Today, its presence is limited to a handful of legacy locations, serving as a reminder of changing dynamics in the salon industry.
