Its presence spanned major metropolitan areas as well as suburban markets, with particular strength in the Midwest and Southeast.

A defining moment in the company’s growth came in 2012, when Real Living was acquired by HomeServices of America, an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway. This move brought Real Living into one of the country’s largest real estate brokerage families, providing access to significant resources and a reputation for stability. The brand became known for supporting both large and boutique brokerages through a flexible franchise model, offering national marketing and technology while allowing local offices to maintain their own identities.

Over the five years leading up to March 2022, Real Living maintained a steady approach to expansion, focusing on selective growth in both urban and high-growth suburban markets. The company continued to invest in technology and agent support, emphasizing service quality and agent satisfaction. Its model allowed for a broad range of brokerage sizes and formats, which contributed to its national reach and adaptability.

In late 2022, Real Living Real Estate was integrated into the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network as part of a broader consolidation by its parent company. By early 2023, all Real Living offices had either rebranded or merged, and the Real Living name was retired. While the brand itself is no longer active, its legacy continues through the agents and offices now operating under the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices banner. Social media and other digital assets remain online for archival purposes, but office-level contacts are no longer current due to the transition.
