Fresh Market has opened its first store in Suntree at the Pineda Landings shopping plaza, which is at the intersection of Wickham Road and Jordan Blass Drive. Its been a long wait for the high end grocer to come to Central Breward and in the process it has encouraged other nearby retailers to start their business to benefit from their popularity. Fresh Market's Suntree store is opening at a time when Central Brevard is getting an influx of new retailers, including Wawa in Palm Shores.
Promenade Shoppes Shopping Plaza which is just across the Pineda Landings shopping center had long vacant storefronts all of which have tenants now. A new Mattress Xpress and Tely's Chinese Restaurant just opened. At Suntree Shopping Plaza, Charlie & Jake's, a 25-year-old brewery and barbecue restaurant is wrapping up a complete upgrade and renovation of its restaurant. Upgrades include a décor change, updated restaurant layout, new seating and booths, upgraded restroom and service areas, and a newly created wine-tasting and bar area.
The shopping center that Fresh Market anchors, Pineda Landings, has announced some of its upcoming tenants today, which include Zaxby's, Orange Theory Fitness, California Tortilla, Expedia, and Hand + Stone Massage and Facial.
Another major development will be a Breward Medical City next to Pineda landings and on the other side a high end condominium project with approximately 300-400 units. It is in the planning stages yet. Developer Eric Hardoon says the area was asleep for many years and is about to grow a lot. Grace Vista, owner of Vista Florida Realty in the Promenade Shoppes feels the same. She opened her business in the Promenade Shoppes in August 2004 when the center was only half occupied.
Jill Rose Vice President of retail services for Bishop Beale says that Central Breward is an attractive location for upscale retailers, because the region has population with high income and lacks some of the brand stores which other well to do communities take for granted. The county's demographics is conducive to development as incomes are high, population is good and its strategically located near the Pineda Causeway.
