Pleasant Grove Area is set to witness major developments all over. Whataburger opened in August with $3.6 million Burlington Coat Factory opening up in the next few weeks. Walmart which has been operating in this area for many years is up for renovation. Chick-fil-A, Walgreens and Academy also have a presence there. During the year 2015, Cavender's the $2.5 million company started operating at a new location.

Rogers Mayor, Greg Hines in an interview to "The City Wire" said that development in the Southwest corner of the city had been idle for many years and it was only recently that it had started seeing rapid development. Rogers is coming up with some retail commercial growth with many multifamily projects as it had the lowest vacancy rates for many years across the region. New retail centers with a 200 unit apartment complex are being planned to attract customers and residents in the area.

Officials have approved the construction of two retail Centers at 2401 and 2301 W Pleasant Grove Road, construction for which is expected to begin in mid-October on the 18,385 square-foot center at 2401, developed by David Boener. Grove Retail Center will be a 14,280 Sq Ft building developed by Harold Crye, CEO of Crye-Leike Real Estate. This building is expected to start in mid-November, Henley said. Both centers will take about 12 months to complete.  

Assistant city planner, Lori Ericson says that more than 600 apartment units are in various stages of development at three locations in Rogers. Promenade Point, a 200-unit complex already under construction at Bellview and New Hope roads, north of Pinnacle Hills Promenade which is being developed by HSB Rogers Apts. LLC, of Mishawaka, Ind.

Salter Properties Of Conway is coming up with Palisades at Pleasant Grove, which is a 208-unit complex. It is situated on the north side of Academy Sports and Outdoors which is located on 26th Street. In other major development Watermark at Walnut Creek has been issued grading and construction permits for a 220-unit complex at 600 S.Promenade Blvd., just south of the Scottsdale 6 Shopping Center. Watermark Residential of Indianapolis Inc the developer of the project is a leader of developing upscale apartment homes in eight states.

Steve Cox, economic development director for the Rogers Lowell Chamber of Commerce says that The Pleasant Grove Road area and the Pauline Whittaker area in western Rogers are now the new residential destiny with multifamily developments. The city's median age of 32 with young professionals are encouraging multifamily housing since vacancy rates ate very low. All these developments will bring a sea change in the Retail history of Rogers.
