The Fresh Market is opening their first location in Metairie, Louisiana. This location will be the company’s fifth store in the state, including one already in New Orleans and one in Baton Rouge. The new Metairie location will mark the first Fresh Market in Jefferson Parish.The location for the new Fresh Market in Metairie will be in the Wilshire Plaza Shopping Center, which is at the corner of Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard and Martin Behrman Avenue. The shopping center already has an Office Depot, Big Lots, Rite Aid, and Gordon’s home accessories store. The new Fresh Market is replacing a former furniture outlet in the back corner of the shopping plaza, which has a traffic count of 48,700. The fresh food retail chain will join other area grocers, including Whole Foods, Winn-Dixie, and Dorignac’s Food Center right across the street.
