SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- Target recently announced that it will be opening a second store in Santa Rosa, which will be located at the Coddingtown Mall at 900 Coddingtown Center, and will join the 60 existing specialty stores.

Target representative Cary Strouse, who also serves the western region as senior vice president of stores, called the area around San Francisco Bay an "exciting region."

The new store, which is scheduled to open this July, is planned to be approximately 14,000 square feet at the location of the former Gottschalks building. The new store will incorporate a Starbucks as well as a pharmacy and optician. Like many Target stores, it will also offer grocery products like produce and packaged meat.

Strouse added that the new store would add another 200 jobs to the area and that the company would continue its dedication to the local community. The new store is also slated to begin a local grant program, which will contribute to organizations like the United Way and Feeding America.

About two months before the opening of the new Santa Rosa store, Target will begin hosting job fairs where potential employees can apply and interview with managers, but job hunters may also apply online on the company website or at kiosks at other Target locations as early as three months before opening.
