Business Profile:

Started in 1982, Olive Garden is now regarded as the largest Italian chain restaurant, with over 840 locations nationwide, and is known for their family-oriented dining and Italian cuisine.  With over 95,000 employees and an estimated $3.8 billion in annual sales, Olive Garden is lead by President Dave George (since January 2013 and who is also the Executive Vice President of Darden Restaurants).

As one of Darden Restaurant’s largest chains, Olive Garden offers an array of menu items to ensure that there is something for everyone, including soups and salads, classic entrees, pasta, seafood, family-style options, gluten-free items, vegetarian and vegan dishes, kids options, lunch menu, and desserts.  Olive Garden also offers a rewards program to its patrons that choose to participate, as well as an eClub.  As members accrue points, they are able to redeem them in dollar amounts or in free appetizer, entrees, desserts, etc.

Like many of Darden’s other restaurant chains, Olive Garden believes in participating in charitable causes to better communities nationwide.  Through the Olive Garden Harvest program, the chain works to feed communities in need by donating high-quality food to community food banks (olivegarden.com).  Other organizations and causes they participate in are the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), New Restaurant Opening and Restaurants Remodel Community Donations, NFHS Network, Pasta for Pennies and Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program.  To learn more about these charitable programs, click here.
