Based in the Northeastern United States, Raymour & Flanigan is an American Furniture Retail Chain. Brothers Bernard and Arnold Goldberg established Raymour’s Furniture Company, the predecessor of Raymour & Flanigan Furniture in the year 1946.

It is the 6th largest furniture retailer in the United States as of 2012. They operate 90 full-line showrooms, 11 clearance centers, 13 customer service centers and 1 main distribution center, serving customers in seven states: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island according to there website

The Goldberg brothers named their furniture store after an antiques shop owned by another brother at Long Island. They could not name their store as "Goldberg" since a relative of theirs was already running a store by that name. A few decades later  Bernard and Arnold Goldberg opened a second Raymour Furniture store in Clay, New York in the year 1972. During the same time Bernard Goldberg's son, Neil joined their family-owned company.

By the year 1990, the Raymour Furniture store had expanded to seven locations and it acquired its competitor, Flanigan's Furniture, which was operating fourteen stores in the Buffalo and Rochester areas around the same time. This acquisition gave birth to Raymour & Flanigan which started expanding into Western New York.

In the 1990's and 2000's Raymour & Flanigan expanded rapidly and became one of the largest furniture retailers in the United States. By the year 2010 Raymour & Flanigan had 95 locations through-out the Northeast United States and the company reported sales of over $1 billion in 2011 from their 95 stores.

In 2007 Raymour & Flanigan purchased Alpert's Furniture, thereby expanding its market to Rhode Island.  In December 2007, Raymour & Flanigan Furniture acquired 18 Levitz Furniture store locations in the New York Metro market.

Bernard Goldberg remained the chairman of Raymour & Flanigan until his death in 2010. Currently it is being headed by two Goldberg's son-President and CEO Neil Goldberg and Executive Vice President Steve Goldberg.
