Jersey Mike's Subs headquartered in Manasquan, New Jersey is a submarine sandwich or "Sub" chain. The New Jersey's franchise has more than 750 locations running all across the Unites States.
The history of Jersey's Mike can be traced back in 1956 when Peter Cancro of Point Pleasant, New Jersey at the age of 14, took a part-time job at Mike's, a neighbourhood sandwich shop run by its third owner. In 1975 when the shop was put up for sale, Canro's mother suggested him to buy it. Canro's high school football coach who was also a banker helped him in pooling a total of $125,000 in just three days. He is the CEO and owner of the company.
Jersey's Mike till date serves made to order submarine sandwiches, slicing the meats and cheese as needed, just as they did at the original Mike's store in 1956. "Mike's Way" is a popular sandwich, which involves sliced onions, tomatoes, lettuce, herbs with spices and also "The Juice" - which is a mixture of Red-Vinegar and Olive Oil.
Just to make sure that the customers get to taste the exact flavor of the original Mike's store, prospective store managers are sent to the original store at Point Pleasant for a six to eight week training course.
