Dunkin Donuts will be opening a new location in Storrs Center in 2016. Everyday many students have to wait at the Student Union for a cup of Dunkin Donuts and the new location will help in decreasing the pressure on the Student Union location.
Derek Pacheco franchisee, says that the new shop will neighbor Bruegger’s Bagels and Jamba Juice on Storrs Road. He is confident about the performance and thinks that it is a great place to open another location. They are excited to expand as they have been very successful in the Student Union location.
Pacheco owns four Dunkin' Donuts in Storrs alone, and the chain of donut shops have become a staple in New England. As a growing brand, more stores have been added as the college has grown. Residents of the Oaks on the Square are very excited with the new development.
Howard Kaufman, CEO and Principal at Leyland Alliance says that a new Dunkin Donuts was required at the center as there are many people who really love their Dunkin Donuts coffee and doughnuts as coffee is one thing that they really enjoy.
Storrs Road already hosts two coffee shops in Dog Lane Café and Starbucks Coffee. Derek Pacheco says that he is not worried about the competition as Dog Lane Café sells a different product and Starbucks sells ordinary so he does not feel threatened. Customers are loyal to them.
